You get home from work, grab your bag in one hand and groceries in the other. make your way up to the front door, fumble to get your keys, unlock the door, and just as it opens a gust of wind blows from behind you and slams the inside handle into the drywall. Leaving you with good sized hole in your drywall right in your foyer. Or, your kids are roughhousing in their room and they get a little out of hand and leaves a body sized dent in the wall.... Sound familiar?

Small holes, large holes, big dents, and cracks are all typically a result of an impact. Holes and dents are fairly self explanatory, but cracks on the other hand are less directly "impacted". These can be caused by impact to floors and walls either by jumping, slamming doors, and even the seasonal expansion and contraction of the lumber framing in your walls.
Water damage is usually easy to spot by the discoloration and swelling of your walls or ceiling. If caught early the amount of drywall to be repaired can be minimal. However, water can creep through drywall at almost 1 inch per hour, and not to mention the root cause of the water damage can be even greaterif left unaddressed.
More often than not our services are called once the leak has been resolved, nonetheless, on the rare occasion that we spot a leak we will bring it to your attention immediately, and are able to provide you with professional advice and contacts to address the situation if needed.
These pesky screw holes and circular shaped cracks are caused by a screw that has penetrated past the outer paper layer of the drywall into the loose gypsum interior of the drywall board. This is commonly seen in large home developments caused by production crews who install drywall at very fast pace with a lack of attention to the perfect depth of the screw head, as well as by excessive impact by human force on a floor - for instance, jumping up and down on your floor, or dropping a heavy weight on your floor can cause nail popping on your ceiling below.
Although seemingly invisible to the naked eye, outside corners in your home are capped with a plastic or metal "L" channel called a corner bead. Drywall compound is then spread to the edge of this corner, and painted over to hide the rough drywall-drywall connection. If impacted hard enough this corner bead can be dented, cracking the surrounding drywall compound.
Sheets of drywall come in standard sizes just like sheets of plywood and therefore require what is called "taping" to smooth the transition from sheet to sheet. This "tape" comes in various materials from mesh filaments, paper, to fiberglass and all have their own unique uses within the drywalling and taping process. Tape separations is often caused by the drywall compound used to affix the tape to the drywall cracking away from one or both of the connecting drywall sheets.
More often than not drywall repair is done for cosmetic reasons. If left untreated though, cracks can get longer, water damage can worsen, and costs to repair will increase. Many of our clients request our drywall services simply to make their homes ready for sale, while others, prefer the peace of mind we bring with water damage repair. Whatever your motiviation, rest assured we will service your drywall repair with the care and expertise.
